Getting diabetes in adulthood is a serious possibility for those people who carry too much extra weight. A huge number of the population are suffering with diabetes and the associated health problems that this disease can bring with it.
Did you realise diabetes means thousands of people going blind every year. And diabetes is also a major cause of kidney disease.
And then add the fact that you are four times more likely to get heart disease or suffer a stroke when you have diabetes and it doesn’t look good.
Males take note as being overweight also affects the ability to get an erection.
If you are too fat you should get your cholesterol levels checked out and your blood pressure as both could be above healthy.
Even a little reduction in weight can have quite a substantial effect on your overall quality of health. And later in life there won’t be such risk of developing other problems.
Being overweight can also mean you snore as when you are lying horizontal fatty tissue in your throat can block your breathing. So you won’t sleep as well and the following day your energy is at a lower level.
Just a little fat loss significantly lowers snoring leading to quality sleep and so more energy.
When you are over tired it is tempting to try to get your energy back by eating a lot. In this way you only add to your health problems.
Exercise to lose fat is not just about looks. It should just be an added bonus of actually getting healthier. Being healthy and being attractive do not necessarily go hand in hand. There are ways you can do this like surgery or make-up. But here’s a thought - Will your beauty save your health as you age?
